An old teacher of mine once quoted as saying that. Frankly I must agree.

Since I’ve been working within the mystere of Legba, I’ve come to the conclusion that he is correct. What also is fascinating is how the Vodoun is so inclusive rather than exclusive.

My teacher is both initiated into Vodoun and Obeah. I think he’s got a few other initiations such as from the Masons but he’s not talking. 😉 Just wanted to tell you guys that this is a VERY nice site!

Feel free to stop by my Guild of Sorcery and have a look see. If interested, it’d be nice to link up. Peace, Power Prosperity!

The African faith traditions are the root of thousands of traditions now spread across the globe. In studying one or many of them, you may have a greater sense of the binding threads between religions such as Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and even Christianity. There is no doubt that the aboriginal religions of Africa were the birthplace of many of the World’s great religions.

Hello!, Mr. Beauvoir. I visit your site from time to time. And I notice that you don’t have any updated sites for your viewers to watch.
I enjoy going to voodoo parties (Gumbo) and enjoy listening to voodoo music. But you shortened up the songs so there for there isn’t any enjoyment out of that.
Please have more sample songs for us to hear from voodoo spirits such as Ogou, Papa Gede, Ersulie Danto, and give us a new version of temple of yehwe. Give more exciting photos to watch and enjoy, also give us more visual aspects of Vaudou. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us.

Thank you, TiFemmeCreyol

I asked a question a while back as to how would one go about finding an Ounfor, and getting Initiated into Vodoun in New York.
In the discussion forum, I was told to give my email address and someone with the Temple would put me in touch with someone.

E-MAIL ADDRESS IS [email protected]
I CAN BE CONTACTED AT (914)/289-1210. MERCI!

PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE SHOUTING MODE!

Hi Patrick, the Temple is known to initiate people all year long and through 2 great ceremonies per year, on reservation only. Yet in Vodou, you must come to the Temple and the Temple only comes to you if you have serious problems, that is why I suggest that you contact The Temple at (202) 237 5256.

I would like to thank everyone at "Le Péristyle de Mariani" for their kindness during my stay in Haiti to attend the "Vodoun" Seminar in July 2001

I was afraid at first, but curious about "Vodoun". I am glad that I had the courage to go and find out the truth about "Vodoun".

Your Seminar was extremely informative. I will definitely tell my friends about this great discovery. I was always lead to believe that "Vodoun" was BAD and now that I have attended your Seminar I feel that I was kept
in the dark all this that time. Thank you and thank you very much for educating me about "Vodoun". I wish more people would face their fear and go find out what "Vodoun" is really all about.
Believe me you will not regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best regards, Dorothy Daniels

Vodoun Seminar & Workshop, I just returned to NY after attending the 10 days Seminar & Workshop 2001. It was incredibly instructive; the speakers were very well informed serviteurs and the workshop instructors in their diligence made learning fun and easy to absorb.

The large group who attended was so in tune with the environment that everyone benefited from the enriched knowledge of our Vodoun religion. I am so glad that I was able to be a part of it. I do hope I can make it again next year and after…

Thank you Max, Elizabeth, Rachel, Didier, Leslie, Jacques, Aboudja, all my sisters & brothers, new friends and old ones. I love you a lot.

I grew up in Europe and never had the chance to really know my country, all I her about it is that it is a beautiful island but so poor. This must stop, why can’t Haiti be a country where the citizen could live in peaceful instead of running away and be treated like animals un the other countries like USA, Guadeloupe… Haitian, where is your pride, it’s about time you show and stop living for your self but for the hole nation and for the unroothted children like me.

Haiti Cheri my mother use to say that but know, she can’t even go to see her father so much she hates her country. But I still have hope and believe in my fellow compatriots.

Hi Jordan!

May I suggest you participate to the forum and I and others could discuss with you.

Homosexuality is a non-issue in Vodoun even if some people present it otherwise. Vodoun is a much too old tradition to take into this kind of fad.

Animal sacrifices is another matter.

Very interesting site. I am currently a student of Santeria and wish to learn more about Vodoun as well. They are very beautiful religions which have much application in the world today. I wonder if Mr. Max Beauvoir might be any relation to Charles Beauvoir of Haiti who now resides in San Francisco working as a structural engineer. I worked with Charles for a few years in the ’80s but have not seen him for a few years.

My knowledge of Vodou is very nil. I know of lwa, and the different nation setups, and the relationships between lwa and the Catholic saints, but that’s about it. I have some knowledge of Ifa, which helps in the understanding of Vodou, but I hope to learn more.

Next event can be found on The Temple’s Seminar Site. From December 27th to February 3rd 2002 we will be holding 3 modules of seminars and workshops for beginners, initiates and High Initiates.

I’ve been summon for initiation, but it’s such a delicate matter, and it; a very big question on trust. for I’ I have been told the priest or priestess has to be a pure guinin.

Greetings. I can’t believe now that I am in Atlanta, I come across you. I am originally from Baltimore, but none the less, I am glad to have found you. I have been researching and working towards learning about IFA for over 2 yrs now. Since being in Atlanta, I have had a reading that found my lineage being of the Ewe/Fon. I have always been drawn to Vodoun, and hope to someday learn Haitain vodun as well as the vodun of the Fon.

Until our paths cross. Peace and blessings. Topodun

I was born and raised in Haiti. However, I was never given an opportunity to learn anything about Vodoun. Since that lack of identity through our religion is so great, how does one bring that common identity to those of us who have rejected Vodoun through the propaganda of Europe?
I would like to encourage those practitioners of Vodoun to write more and conduct workshops in every community where Haitians live. It is also good business to bring Haitians together while building their identity through the religion of Haiti, Vodoun.

I wanted to know where there any other Haitian authors out there that have books describing thee experiences from Haiti. I am really interested.

I think that this is an excellent site for information, especially for people who believe that Vodou is full of voodoo dolls and evil witchcraft. But if you ever decide to update this site, I beg of you to tell the reader more about the gods and goddesses, like Papa Ghede, la Sirene, and Erzulie.
Thanks again, Kyrah.
P.S. My mother said to tell you she said hi.
